PAST PIECES

Whatsername, Saint James

"Whatsername, Saint James" A bittersweet heart. Remember whatever, as it seems like forever ago. But no regrets as they are useless in my mind, although you might still hear them in your head. Eventually you will just remember the feeling of the joy you had during that time, and the person who disappointed you, will fade away. Material: Alcohol Ink on Yupo (sculpture) mounted on canvas, framed and ready to hang. Size: 13.5” x 13.5” x 1.5” (Framed)

Joker

"Joker" Inspired by the classic color combination of the comic book villain. Material: Alcohol Ink on Yupo (sculpture) mounted on canvas, framed and ready to hang. Size: 13.5” x 13.5” x 1.5” (Framed)

Lifted Veil - I

"Lifted Veil - I" "When the mind has broken free from the restraints, it is then when the soul becomes free. Over the past year, I’ve been reflecting on what truly matters in my life. I’ve been facing some of my darkest demons. Allowing myself to see the things I’ve been hiding from. While slowing down, facing reality, and exploring my mental health, the constraints of my old daily life fell to the wayside. What emerged was my true self. Material: Molding Paste, Acrylics Size: 24" x 24"

Tiny Vessels

"Tiny Vessels" Inspired by the song by Death Cab for Cutie. When someone believes they are so in love with someone, but as the attraction fades so does the “love” that individual has for the other. No matter how ‘perfect’ or ‘beautiful’ the person may be, they aren’t meant for the other person. In the end, they mean absolutely nothing to them. Materials: Alcohol ink on Yupo (sculpture), Alcohol Ink, gold leaf on canvas Size: 8” x 10” x 1.5” Unframed ready to hang with gallery wire.

To Survivors

"To Survivors" It is a very difficult thing to say the words “I am a survivor”. No matter what type of traumatic experience, saying those four words, and meaning them, is no easy task. I’ve come to notice those who have experienced the worst in life tend to be some of the nicest people I have ever met. I think it’s because they don’t want anyone else in the world to feel the pain that they have. Materials: Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper, framed. Size: Art: 9” x 12” (Framed: 11” x 14”)

Where the Ocean Meets the Sky

"Where the Ocean Meets the Sky" There were so many nights when I look straight ahead, and you could never tell where the ocean met the sky. I didn’t had a care in the world. Those are the days I long for when I get discouraged or when the pain is too much. The simple nights of just sitting in a lifeguard stand and looking out into the indigo darkness, listening to the calming sounds of nature. Materials: Acrylics on wrapped Canvas Dimensions: 14" x 11" x 1.5"

Poppy

"Poppy" A heart in honor of my niece, Poppy, who brings nothing but true joy and happiness into my life, and anyone else she encounters. Materials: Alcohol Inks, Yupo Paper, mounted on canvas, varnish and framed.

Blossoming Heart

"A Blossoming Heart" I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death. – Leonardo da Vinci Materials: Alcohol Inks, Yupo Paper, mounted on canvas, varnish and framed.

Stress & Success

“Stress & Success” A piece to reflect of how with great success comes great stress. They are intertwined, and like a sales report, sometimes you are in the red; other times you are in the black. Materials: Canvas, Alcohol Inks, Yupo Paper, Varnish Dimensions: 24”W x 24”H x 1.5”D

9.21.

Materials: Canvas, Music Sheet Paper (purchased), Transfer Varnish, Alcohol Inks, Silver & Gold Leaf, High Gloss Varnish Dimensions: 20”W x 34”H x 1.5”D

Connection

A piece for two incredible people. I was given one word, "Connection", and to create whatever I felt from that word. It started with reflecting on those two individuals, their journey's as two separate people, finding one another, the connection the forged, and the connection they've been building since. I utilized the colors and feeling I had whenever I think of them, & the 3D Yupo sculpture to show the bridge they've been building together, as well as the building they still have to come.

A Mothers Nature

"A Mother's Nature" The life-giving and nurturing aspects of nature - embodying it, no matter what form it may take. Materials: Alcohol Ink, Yupo, High Gloss Varnish, framed. Dimensions (Framed): 8”W x 8”H x 2”D

Purple Heart

"Purple Heart" The Purple Heart is a U.S. military decoration awarded to members of the armed forces wounded or killed in action by or against an enemy. It was established in 1782 and re-established in 1932. This is my exploration of what our service members hearts must experience through war. As someone who has loved ones in the military & know those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, we sometimes forget, through the smiles & good times, what our loved ones have seen.
