Where the Ocean Meets the Sky

Where the Ocean Meets the Sky

“Where the Ocean Meets the Sky”

Whenever I get down on myself I always go to the water. There is just some thing about it that calms me, instantaneously.

While being stuck in isolation since February 2020, I keep thinking about the time I lived in South Florida.

The nights my friends and I would drive down to the beach, sit in a lifeguard stand staring out into the Atlantic ocean, and talk about where life was going to take us.

Those night skies and the sound of the water crashing onto the beach never left me.

Whenever I get overwhelmed, I close my eyes and I try so hard to remember how bright the moon was, along with the stars, and the sound of the ocean as we just sat there. Life was simpler.

There were so many nights when I look straight ahead, and you could never tell where the ocean met the sky. I didn’t had a care in the world. Those are the days I long for when I get discouraged or when the pain is too much.

The simple nights of just sitting in a lifeguard stand and looking out into the indigo darkness, listening to the calming sounds of nature.
